Despite being invited to meet with him on erev Rosh Hashanah, it appears that chareidi MKs will reject yet another invitation to meet with Housing Minister Uri Ariel, who explains he wishes to discuss housing issues that are relevant to the chareidi tzibur.
While a final decision is yet to be made, chareidi MKs are signaling they remain unwilling to meet with a cabinet minister from Bayit Yehudi after all the damage that has been done by the party. During a Tuesday afternoon 14 Elul Knesset Finance Committee meeting MK (Shas) Itzik Cohen mentioned the minister’s invitation, expressing his stern opposition to such a meeting. At present it appears that many if not most of the chareidi MKs are opposed to meeting with Ariel before Rosh Hashanah.

Ariel is a decent enough well meaning chap, but what could the meeting accomplish?
How about a meeting after the coming vote?

..In the letter advertised by Arutz-7, the rav writes “They duped us. They defrauded us. Therefore, we must say to the ministers and MKs in Bayit Yehudi until here! We will not be a partner in the destruction of Torah! This is a call to war against those who seek to destroy Torah!”
Rav Melamed in his letter turns to Minister of Education (Yesh Atid) Rabbi Shai Piron stating “We are certain you did not intend to join a party that would harm yeshivos including Zionist yeshivos. You came to unite and not to cause a split. You did not come to promote hate between religious and non-religious. Your may not be a part of such a process.”
It took months to see and understand what Charedi Gedolim have warned about many months earlier.
Rabbi Melamed, why don’t you try to get rid of the head of your party who’s responsible for partnering in the destruction of Torah?
Bennet clearly wants to redefine Israel and Judaism. He wants to control the entire internal landscape of the country (education, finance, religion, etc.) to imprint his vision. He will try to determine what schools will teach, etc. He will use his control of the distribution of money and to try to force every hand.
(It’s akin to what the old Mapai did)
Their loss.
The ongoing boycott to discuss a pareve item like housing or medical needs is hurting who, do u think???
Communicate & meet it is the characteristics of a mensch.
I beg the hareidi rabbis to not hold grudges and accept this gesture of achdus.
There are changes going on in that party and it’s important for those who hold the Torah most dear to stand together.
I will continue to pray for an end to this strife between Torah true Jewry.
#4 Glad you deal with anybody

Most of Shas supporters served in the IDF. If what the Bennet objected to was hareidim not serving in the army and not integrating into the workforce, he should have loved Shas. In fact, his antagonism is more strongly directed against Shas .
Fighting over such a minor yet vital issue will get them nowhere. After they’re done fighting they’ll pick up thier heads to find Naftali Bennett prime minister. As frum politicians they have a responsibility to work לטובת הכלל, not for their own honor. How you say, eh, grow up in Hebrew?
Pardon, #4 tirtza
