India Warns Visiting Israeli Tourists Of Terror Warning


TERIndia’s security officials have issued a terror warning for Israelis in that country during the upcoming Tishrei Yomim Tovim, Channel 2 News reported on Monday night the eve of 14 Elul. The report states al-Qaeda terrorists are planning to strike Israeli and Jewish locations, including Mumbai and New Delhi. Officials in Israel’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau in the Prime Minister’s Office report there is no change in the threat level as far as they are concerned.

Officials in India’s Interior Ministry nevertheless are calling for increased security for Israeli and Jewish locations as well as calling on Jewish and Israeli visitors to be increasingly vigilant and cautious while visiting during the yomtov season. The alert they explain is especially relevant regarding consulates and diplomatic facilities, shuls, Chabad houses and any and all other places frequented by Israelis.

On November 26, 2008 terrorists attacked the Mumbai Chabad House, a terrorist incident that lasted for four days and claimed the lives of the shluchim and other Yidden HY”D in addition to local residents.
