Brooklyn – Councilman David Greenfield is going all out for Kathy Hochul for Lieutenant Governor. Hochul is running on a “ticket” with Governor Andrew Cuomo but must be elected on her own line today. Thursday night, Greenfield hosted Kathy Hochul in Boro Park, taking her on a tour of the neighborhood and introducing her to 75 community leaders at a “Cholent with Kathy Hochul” event in Boro Park. On Sunday night, Greenfield showed Hochul around Flatbush and campaigned with her in front of Pomegranate on Avenue L.
Hochul, a Buffalo native, had never been to Boro Park or Flatbush before. Councilman Greenfield was delighted to introduce her to the community and share with the statewide candidate what makes the neighborhood so unique and special. Thursday night’s visit started at Breadberry, a new gourmet kosher supermarket on 60th Street & 17th Avenue. Greenfield and Hochul toured the supermarket stopping to chat with shoppers and the store staff. Hochul had the chance to hear firsthand from residents what issues mattered to them, including concerns about provide parents with tuition relief, perspectives that she promised to carry to the Governor’s office.
“Kathy Hochul is the real deal. She is is genuinely concerned about our community’s needs. The response to her in the street was incredibly positive. Everyone who met her liked her and appreciated her support for our community including her long time record as a strong supporter of Israel,” explained Councilman Greenfield.
The frum community’s chesed was on full display at Thursday night’s “Cholent with Kathy Hochul” event, many non-profit and social service organization leaders in attendance had the chance to share the amazing work they do with Hochul. Each askan introduced their organization in depth, giving Kathy Hochul insight on the needs of the community and the amazing chesed in Boro Park & Flatbush. Hochul then shared her vision for New York State and how she would work hand-in-hand with Governor Cuomo to produce jobs, support community organizations and provide relief for tuition paying yeshiva parents. As the event wrapped up, Kathy Hochul tasted cholent for her very first time – and promised to be back to enjoy the traditional Shabbos stew as soon as she wins her race for Lieutenant Governor.
“It is so important for our elected officials to understand the needs of the frum community. Throughout her visit Kathy Hochul was incredibly engaged and interested in the issues that matter to us. I have no doubt that she will be an excellent Lieutenant Governor and encourage everyone to vote for her today, Primary Day, in New York State,” said Councilman Greenfield.
Hochul is running for Lieutenant Governor on the same ticket as Governor Cuomo who is seeking re-election to his second term. Hochul faces an extreme left-wing primary challenger who does not support the values of our community. Please be sure to vote today for Kathy Hochul for Lieutenant Governor.
