The Brooklyn Public Library system is adding hours, librarians and staff.
Starting next month, the system’s 60 branches will be open an average of 45 hours a week.
The New York Times says it also will expand the number of branches that will be open six or seven days a week to 41 from 25.
That’s all due to an additional $2.8 million for 2015 from the City Council and the mayor’s office.
New librarians will be hired for the first time since 2008. They will be trained to help patrons with technology questions.
