Three border policemen sustained light injuries while operating in predominately Arab-occupied eastern Yerushalayim. They were making arrests in Abu Tor when they were attacked with stones and rioting. In addition to the three, a fourth suspect was taken into custody in connection to the rock-throwing attacks.
In another item involving Arab attacks against police in the capital, on Friday afternoon, after Islamic prayer services on Har Habayis which were attended by 30,000 people, Arabs began throwing rocks at police near the Mughrabi Gate. No policepersons were injured. Police report Waqf officials pushed the Arab youths back into the mosque to halt the attacks. When they finally came out, two were placed under arrest on suspicion of involvement in the rock-throwing.
