The Catskills Hatzolah garage was temporarily evacuated Sunday evening, after an oxygen tank exploded. Sources tell YWN Catskills that a member was changing an oxygen tank, when it suddenly exploded.
Making things difficult was that at the time of the incident, all Hatzolah emergencies for NYC and the Catskills were begin dispatched from the Catskills garage. Thankfully, a dispatcher was available at another dispatch center in Brooklyn, and the lines were quickly forwarded.
The dispatchers quickly evacuated the building, along with the injured member, as dozens of Hatzolah members rushed to the scene.
Hatzolah was assisted by the Fallsburg Fire Department, and the Fallsburg Police Department.
Boruch Hashem, there were no serious injuries.

B”H, no injuries! HaYad haShem Tiktzar?
Just curious!
Where exactly was this?
As YWN so rightly reported, B’H no serious injuries, but how much does an oxygen tank cost? & how much value in damage was caused?
i’ll rephrase an old 9-1-1 question here. what does catskills hatzolah do, when they need catskills hatzolah? it happened with nyc 911 when many dispatchers got sick from food poisoning and ambulances had to be sent.
Someone I know always has a cow when someone leaves an oxygen tanks standing.
Remember to keep them flat.
