Former congressman Anthony Weiner is aiming to open a restaurant.
Weiner wants to open an eatery in the Rockaways, a coastal Queens neighborhood.
The place will be named The Rockaway Restoration Kitchen and will offer locally sourced food.
It will provide jobs to residents of the neighborhood which is still recovering from Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
Weiner is listed on the restaurant’s Idealist.org job listing page and The Rockaway Times reports he’s scouted locations.
Weiner resigned his seat in Congress in 2011 after admitting to engaging in inappropriate behavior.
He ran for mayor last year and led the field before more allegations sank his bid.
He has been working as a pundit and consultant.
The Rockaways were part of his former congressional district.

Let the jokes begin.
I, for one, hope they do not have pictures on the menue, especially if the menu includes weiner schnitzel.
That’s my Weiner. That a boy Weiner, fill em up. Everybody gets jobs and everybody gets stuffed.
He coulda been the president some day. I bet the 5-eyes were responsible him resigning. They were probably jealous, they hate to see someone like Weiner get big and rise to power.
Based on the article and Wiener’s own background, I doubt very much that the restaurant will have a good hashgacha. He is not personally frum and this part of Rockaway does not have a big yiddeshe population to support a kosher restaurant.
Will probably be Hallal so his live-in help will be able to eat there.
This will be funny to watch. Actually, before anyone runs for office, they should be made to run a business to learn how the real world works.
I’ll take some shwarma with side order of huma and fries please.
