At approximately 2:40 this afternoon the Lakewood Police Department responded to Williamsburg Lane after receiving a call regarding a shooting.

The caller advised that they observed a small group men in the area and then heard several gunshots.

As officers were responding, police received a call from a women who advised she was driving a 22 year old gunshot victim to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. Several Officers diverted to meet them.

Upon arrival Officers reported that the gunshot victim had been shot several times and aided him and getting medical attention from Emergency Room personnel. At this time the victim is stable but has been transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The suspect is described as a black male, approx 25 yrs old, 5’06”, approx 170lbs, medium length dread locks, and last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white sneakers. He was last seen traveling east on Kennedy Blvd in a white Infinite.
