Lakewood: 3 Tied Up & Kidnapped During Armed Home Invasion On Central Avenue


pdcOn August 2nd at approx 5:15 am, Officers were dispatched to a Central Avenue apartment in reference to a home invasion.

One of the victim’s, was able to contact the Jackson Police Department, (who in turn relayed the information to us).He reported that he and two others where inside the apartment and several armed men entered and are demanding money.

After their attempts to collect the undisclosed amount of money failed, they began removing valuables from the home. They then bound several of the victims and forced them, into a black G37 Infiniti at gun point.

As Officers Kristie Buble, Chase and Geno Messer responded, they observed the suspect vehicle travel towards them at a high rate of speed. The Officers attempted to stop the car, but the unknown driver refused to stop. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle crashed into the fence of a St. Nicholas home.

The driver and front seat passenger both fled on foot as the responding Officers arrived. Officer Chase Messer approached the Infiniti and discovered the three victims still bound in the car, as well as two handguns.

Officers Geno Messer and Kristie Buble gave chase to the fleeing suspects but were unable to locate them at the time.

All three victims were in good condition and did not require medical attention.

At approx. 11:30 am the Detectives from the department were able to develop information which led to the apprehension of 24 yr old, Marcus Taylor, 23 yr old Brandon Meachem and 28 yr old Lovetta Houston all of Baltimore Maryland.

Taylor and Meachem were both charged with Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Eluding, Burglary, Theft several weapons related charges and several motor vehicle violations. Bail was set for each at $500,000 without a 10% option.

Lovettta Houston was charged with Hindering the Apprehension of Another. She was later released.

  1. Why would they let them go on bail. Who knows what else they can do. When they have nothing to loose as they will end up in jail anyway
