At about 06:00 on Shabbos morning, the Shabbos tranquility was replaced by sirens signaling a rocket attack. Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Petach Tikvah, Hod HaSharon, Emek Chefer, Herzliya, S. Hebron Hills communities, Ra’anana and others.

A 77-year-old resident of the Eshkol Regional Council near the Gaza border was injured seriously. He was transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. He was seeking cover but simply did not get there quickly enough. The mortar shell exploded and he was hit with shrapnel.
