Three Bedouin youths have been arrested on Tuesday 2 Menachem Av after they threw rocks at vehicles on Route 40 near Metar. The rock attacks took place as many headed to the levaya of fallen IDF soldier Captain Liad Lavie HY”D, who fell in Operation Protective Edge. It appears the levaya sparked the Bedouin violence in the area.

The violence included hurling rocks and cinderblocks at police and border police. Six men and women taking part in the violence were arrested as well. Police are seeking to extend the remand of the nine suspects in custody.
