The U.S. is confirming that a 15-year-old American citizen is being held by Israeli authorities for his alleged role in protests earlier this month in East Jerusalem.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Monday that considering his age, the U.S. is calling for a speedy resolution to the case of Mohamed Abu Nie.
Psaki says he’s been held since being arrested on July 3 on various charges alleging that he threw rocks, attacked police, was carrying a knife and was leading protests linked to the ongoing unrest between Israel and Hamas (huh-MAHS’).
Psaki says the U.S. also is concerned about allegations that he might have been beaten while in custody.
The U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv is assisting Nie and is in contact with his family and his lawyer.

Trade him for pollard
Were they so concerned about Naftali Frankel?
#2 don’t be silly, he’s only a Jew and this one is a Muslim (Obama’s religion).
What would the United States do to a rioter assaulting police with stones & molotov firebombs. ?
To comment #2:
You took the words right out of my mouth. What about the Americans who were slaughtered in Israel by bus bombs or just sitting in a pizzaria?
Well of course. They’re white Jews so it doesn’t concern the State Dept., but when its a Muslem runt who was committing crimes in a foreign Country, we MUST protect his “rights”! Susan Rice is a low life!
And we pay the salaries of the lowlifes ?
Israel should free him; just like Fla. did to that Jew Gross. Oh that’s right, Israel doesn’t have capital punishment!
