The leader of the House of Representatives, Speaker John Boehner, says the United States must be a strong partner and trusted ally to Israel, not just a peace broker or observer.
In a subtle jab at the Obama administration on Monday, Boehner said that means showing solidarity with Israel.
Boehner’s comments at the National Press Club came as Secretary of State John Kerry has tried to negotiate a humanitarian cease-fire in the Gaza war between Hamas and Israel.
Boehner spoke to the National Leadership Assembly for Israel, which was organized by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

Thanks Mr. Speaker,
A ceasefire is the cessation of fire! Our president and his secretary need to know that! They seem to think that if they supply 47 mil. dollars to the enemy and allow them all the things they ask for that’s called a brokered piece\ceasefire. Humanitarian, is the use of human shields, as they seem to see it!
They’re clueless! And they’re also brazen and apathetic. Teach them a thing or two!
Keep Going Boehner, that’s a true friend
“Behave as a trusted allie”…. Maybe send some American soldiers over to help get rid of all those “rats”in those tunnels once and for all!
May G-D bless Mr. Boehner with everything good .
A forever Friend .
4 all the US needs to do is to say enough with the silly calls for ceasefire and talks with qatar and turkey and Israel will be able to do what it needs to be done without any help.
How can the US be real ally if it’s headed by a brother of Hamas?
If new elections in the US were held today and John Boehner would run for president, he might win strong.
Jews stop voting Democrat!!!!
