Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US Secretary of State John Kerry, asking him to act in order to restore American air travel to and from Israel, officials in the Prime Minister’s Office say. The absence of inbound air travel will deeply affect the Israeli economy. The cancellations come at a particularly sensitive time, following a missile attack on a plane near the Russian-Ukraine border last week. The plane was shot down, and all 295 passengers and staff were killed
A rocket landing in Yahud on Tuesday, near Ben-Gurion International Airport, appears to have precipitated this most unwanted situation which will undoubtedly leave many travelers stranded. Anyone with tickets is urged to contact his/her travel agent or airline for clarification.
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz is quoted saying “There is no reason why the US should cancel flights, thereby handing a prize to terrorists”.

This guy looks pathetic!
He’s certainly apathetic toward Israel.
Theresa’s Ketchup face!
It looks like many other airlines have canceled: Turkish, Alitalia, Transaero, Brussels, and Lufthansa’s subsidiaries Swiss, Austrian, and Germanwings.
They’re trying to put sanctions on Israel to stop the war
This should be added to Obama’s “successes”
Looks as if Satan didn’t finish putting on his disguise is wat this pic presents

This is a pathetic, evil way the State Department has found to put pressure in Israel. They know exactly what they are doing. Kerry is no friend of Israel and is a friend of himself only, trying to achieve glory and to demonstrate “achievements” at any cost after his failed peace process bid.
Re comment no. 1: Excellent comments. What better way to strengthen ties between the US and Israel than to ridicule America’s secretary of state with insults utterly devoid of any meaningful substance. Ketchup face – positively brilliant. The very pinnacle of yiddishe kupf.
What would be gained by the loss of a US airline flying into Tel Aviv that is shot down by a Hamas missile? One of the differences between Israel and the US, on the one hand, and Hamas, on the other, is that Israel and the US have no interest in making martyrs out of airline passengers.
Kudos to the British for not having cancelled British Airways Flights, and of-course to El Al.
May haShem Bless all airlines who continue flying to Lod, very huge profits this coming year.
btln: I think you are 100% correct.
A bigger prize would be for Hamas to shoot down a jetliner full of Jews. The commenters here do not realize how easy it is to take down a low flying jet aircraft. We do not want a repeat of what happened last week in Ukraine.
It should also be noted that El Al aircraft have missile avoidance technology that other airlines lack.
