The Ministry of Health instructed both Tel Hashomer and Beilinson Hospitals to move to high alert in light of the ongoing IDF ground operation in Gaza. The Tel Aviv area hospitals now join Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva and Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon as the primary hospitals to be used to evacuate wounded soldiers and rocket attack victims.

As of Sunday morning 22 Tammuz, the two southern hospitals treated 600 patients.

Magen David Adom reported late motzei Shabbos that since the beginning of the operation, its teams treated 394 victims of rocket fire including two that died of their injuries. MDA adds that 70% of the patients treated since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge were victims of hysteria and psychological trauma
