Israel Police has implemented a number of technological advances to facilitate disabled residents contacting an emergency dispatcher. The new system accommodates callers who are hearing impaired and mute. The system now permits sending SMS text messages for assistance, a fax and even email.

It is stressed the new alternative methods of calling for help are restricted to the disabled who are compelled to rely on these systems.
