Finance Minister Yair Lapid is not pleased with the decision of Interior Minister Gideon Saar, who earlier this week disqualified Tel Aviv municipality bylaws and is compelling the city’s grocery and convenience stores to close on Shabbos.
Lapid is puzzled and displeased with the minister’s decision, questioning why he has decided to disqualify the local regulations to compel the closure of about 300 stores that have been operating on Shabbos. “The minister’s decision is a puzzling one and we are opposed to it” Lapid told the media. At his side is Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, who vows to fight the ministerial order in the Supreme Court if need be.
“Just as the frum residents insist on their status quo in Yerushalayim, the non religious residents of the nation’s largest non-frum city, the city that never sleeps, are entitled to the same” Lapid explains, adding “It has been this way for many years.” Lapid feels the decision will create “needless conflict between the religious and non-religious communities”.

To those who unfortunately do not yet know about the beauty of Shabbos, we will not win them over by bashing or critizing them – but rather by treating them with kindness and respect, and perhaps inviting them over for a Shabbos or Yom Tov meal to see the gift that can be theirs as well one day.

Since when does care about this? how many decision and laws did he change against the frum community? He didn’t care if it will create “needless conflict between the religious and non-religious communities”.

Thanks, whateve. I appreciate that. I realize that each time someone on the site bashes another Jew it is giving us demerits up in Heaven. Imagine a father or mother with three children. Two of them are living lives filled with avodas Hashem. The other one for whatever reason is not. Does that father or mother take pleasure in seeing the two children bashing and critizing their other sibling? Or would that father or mother prefer that the two children reach out with love and compassion and respect to their other sibling in the hope that one day he or she will see the beauty of a life filled with avodas Hashem? I think we all know the answer to that question. Hashem is our Father.. and we are ALL his children.
