Developers hoping to build casinos in New York state are up against a deadline to submit their proposals to the state.
Seventeen teams are in the running for up to four casino licenses expected to be granted for upstate sites this fall.
The casinos will be divided among three regions: the Albany-Saratoga area, the Southern Tier-Finger Lakes region and the Catskills and mid-Hudson River Valley.
Developers include local investors as well as international gambling companies such as Caesars Entertainment, Hard Rock International and the Genting Group.
The applications are due Monday. A state board will review the proposals before making its recommendations.
