The owner of the Sderot paint factory that was hit with a rocket on motzei Shabbos spoke with Israel Radio on Sunday afternoon, 2 Rosh Chodesh Tammuz 5774.

He told Israel Radio that “all politicians come to visit and make statements for the press but they do not do anything to assist”. He explained that he employees 45 residents of the area and in the best case scenario, they will be up and running against in a month at the least. The owner added in some cases lightening strike twice, explaining the factory was hit by a rocket seven years ago.

He is like the others and made the statements to the media but him too, even the minister of the economy is like the others. I was told the government cannot pay the salaries of the out-of-work employees. The owner stated he will do his best to pay their salaries until they are operating again.

Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi called on the government to continue Operation Brothers Return to bring the captives home safely. He added the city’s residents are strong and call on the government to do what must be done to bring an end to the rocket fire.
