NYC: Violent Night Leaves At Least 13 Shot In All Five Boroughs


nypd4It was a violent night in New York City after at least 13 people were shot – at least two fatally – in incidents spanning each of the five boroughs.

The shootings include one in Staten Island that left a man in critical condition.

The 42-year old man was shot in the face on Amboy Road in New Dorp just after 3 a.m. Sunday. Police say he was arguing with another man before the shooting, and the suspect took off in a dark-colored pickup truck.

The victim is being treated at Staten Island University Hospital.

In Brooklyn, authorities say three people were shot on Tapscott Street in Brownsville at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

A 28-year old man was shot in the back and pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. Two other victims are in stable condition. There have been no arrests.

Another shooting occurred in the East New York section. In that incident, one man was taken to Brookdale Medical Center in critical condition.

In Harlem, police say four people were shot just after 2 a.m. inside a park at 45 East 135th Street. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

And in Queens, a man was fatally shot in the head in front of 120-47 219th Street in Cambria Heights. He has been identified as 33-year old Jason Bragg of the Bronx.

  1. Way to go Bratton/DeBlala! I thought lowering the speed limit to 25 would stop death in the City once and for all. Keep writing those parking tickets. That will definitly save lives. Idiots!

  2. Bring back stop and frisk and Bloomberg , that Deplatzio is worse then u think, the police are much more aggressive with that Vision $ , Remember in 3 yrs let him go fly a kite

  3. Sop and frisk would have prevented some of these shootings. The fear of being stopped and arrested for gun possession kept a lot of guns off the street.
