A bill seeking to make a municipal election a holiday to encourage eligible voters to cast a ballot has passed its final readings in Knesset.
Therefore, when a local election is held, a holiday will be observed in that municipality. The sponsors of the bill, which include Interior Minister Gideon Saar, feel that voters must be given the best possible opportunity to vote.
Modi’in, Maccabim-Reut Mayor Chaim Bibis praised the move in his capacity as head of the Union of Local Authorities.

The politician has no clue as to the grwat economic harm his decision causes.
Does this include 2 days off in Beit Shemesh for reelections?
Gevaldig. Let’s steal votes again !
☺
I can see it happening.
Someone’s gonna fake a teudat zehut with a new address, just so he could get a day off in a different municipality.
