Municipal Election Day will be a Holiday

knessetA bill seeking to make a municipal election a holiday to encourage eligible voters to cast a ballot has passed its final readings in Knesset.

Therefore, when a local election is held, a holiday will be observed in that municipality. The sponsors of the bill, which include Interior Minister Gideon Saar, feel that voters must be given the best possible opportunity to vote.

Someone’s gonna fake a teudat zehut with a new address, just so he could get a day off in a different municipality.
