The Knesset Health Committee headed by MK (Likud) Chaim Katz voted to increase the fine for smoking in a sports stadium. This bill passed its second and third readings.
Anyone smoking in a prohibited area, which is basically the stadium other than designated smoking areas, will face a 14,400 shekel fine. The stadium owner will be liable for a 75,300 shekel fine. The local municipality in which the stadium is found will be responsible for enforcing the law.

unless you hold הבערה ללאו יצאת
blah blah blah
Why should a stadium be different than a store or a bus stop where the fine is 1000 shekel that the municipalities don’t bother enforcing?
A 14400 nis fine. I hate when people smoke, and a fine, if enforced, will work. But this is a ridiculous amount.
