As Operation Brothers Return continues, an award of 500,000 shekels has been announced for anyone with information leading to locating the youths, Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frenkel. The reward is a private initiative led by Matan Nachmani, who told the media the reward was only announced after consulting with security officials. It is felt that the money might be sufficient incentive for informants to tell more than they have to date. Nachmani hope the reward money will increase to 1.5 million NIS. Nachmani hasn’t yet raised all the funds, but remains optimistic that he will.

Nachmani feels there are PA residents that will come forward for the money since their quality of life today is poor as a result of Hamas’ actions and this will permit one to get back at Hamas while getting wealthy. The sum is sufficient to permit such a person to relocate and start his life anew. Nachmani explains anyone wishing to cash in must provide security agencies with the information that will direct them to the location of the captives.

It is reported in the money is not required, it will go to the state trustee to assist charitable organizations and the documentation including the custodial certificate receipt will be posted on a website to maintain transparency.
