Security forces taking part in Operation Brothers Return on Tuesday night arrested an additional 64 Hamas terrorists, 51 of which were among those released by Israel in the Shalit prisoner exchange deal. Since the beginning of the operation, over 250 terrorists have been taken into custody in the hope of getting intelligence information regarding the whereabouts of the captives and their abductors. It is pointed out the two may not be in the same location.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu released messages that bringing the boys home remains the primary objective of the operation, seeking to continue to reassure the families as the days pass without visible progress.
Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon is meeting with the families on Wednesday 20 Sivan in the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv to brief them on the ongoing operation. Ya’alon in his statements to the media focused on hitting Hamas hard. He also hints that the operation may take time and it may be expanded if officials feel the situation demands it.
