Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) broke the news that a Health Ministry emergency pharmaceutical warehouse was broken into about two weeks ago yet officials preferred not to report the incident to the media. The warehouse stores drugs for use in a state of emergency including a chemical or biological attack. It was reported on Monday morning 18 Sivan that “tens of millions of shekels” of bird flu vaccinations was stolen in the break-in, referring to the drug Tamiflu®. It remains unclear if any other drugs were taken in quantity.

No additional information is being reported and it remains unknown if officials are taking steps to prevent future break-ins or to track the stolen vaccines.

No state officials are commenting on the theft.
