Rep. Israel: Cantor’s Loss Will Hurt New York GOP

cantThe head of the House Democrats’ campaign operation says the defeat of Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will hurt the GOP in New York’s competitive congressional races.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel says in a conference call with reporters Thursday that Cantor’s loss will move Republican candidates in moderate districts farther to the right. The Long Island congressman says that will make the GOP candidates less competitive in the general election.

A spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee calls Israel’s claims “delusional nonsense.”

Israel claims the rightward tilt is already apparent in the Republican primary race for New York’s 1st congressional district on Long Island and in upstate districts such as the 22nd.

  1. I like the way these Democrats are always analyzing & giving Eitzas to the Republicans. I didn’t know they were so concerned.

  2. Sure, like any democreep is really interested in helping the republicans. Steve Israel sounds like a yuld when he gives his unsolicited, yet completely beneficial to the democreeps, advice.
