One of the development groups that wants to build a casino resort in the Catskills is unveiling design details of its $640 million proposal.
The design for the Nevele Resort, Casino and Spa will be unveiled Thursday during a news conference in the Ulster County Village of Ellenville. The casino would be at the site of the old Nevele hotel nearby, about 70 miles north of New York City.
More than a dozen groups are vying for four casino licenses that will be granted in the Albany-Saratoga area, the Southern Tier-Finger Lakes region and the Catskills and mid-Hudson Valley.
The Nevele group says their proposed resort would include 446 luxury guest rooms, a rooftop pool, a golf course and a ski hill.
Applicants must submit proposals by June 30.

gamblers are night owls preferring the dark, daylight living activities and rolling landscaped reminds them of a life they want to escape.
If the Nevele Hotel in New York’s Catskill mountains is successful in its renovation plans, will travelers who have become accustomed to other destinations actually go there?
Maybe once for nostalgias sake but over and over?
I wrote an article about it this morning at my firms blog: http://www.hallmarkabstractllc.com/the-catskills-nevele-hotel-tries-to-regain-past-glory/
