Emergency personnel were called to the store on Avenue M around 7:00PM, after receiving reports of an accident involving a forklift.

An NYPD spokesperson tells YWN that upon their arrival, police determined that the twenty-two-year-old male victim was attempting to push a Yale forklift manned by another employee up a ramp that leads to a parking area on the roof by utilizing a walk-behind electric forklift. The Yale forklift then rolled back, pinning the victim against a wall. EMS responded and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. The investigation is ongoing.

The deceased is identified as Tapia, Gustavo 922), of Neptune Avenue in Brooklyn.
