Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) correspondent Yair Shrike on Sunday, 3 Sivan 5774 published details of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef’s ZT”L will. According to the report, all the late posek’s money is to be given to the youngest son, Rav Moshe Shlita, who lived in his home and took care of him together with his rebitzen. Rav Moshe was also given the rights to publish and distribute the late posek’s seforim and he is the owner and maintains rights to handwritten manuscripts. Last but not least, he is also given the large library located in the late rav’s study, numbering over 20,000 seforim.
According to the report, Rav Moshe may do as he sees fit with all of the belongings and the brothers are instructed not to protest as this document prevails over any previous documents.
Shrike reports the will was written in 2005, and it was placed in the hands of his trusted confidant attorney David Glass. The will thereby replaces four previously written versions, which were stolen from Glass’ office in a break-in.
The remaining family receives the apartment on Kablan Street, which has an estimated value of 10 million NIS as well as personal items that belonged to Maran.
It is reported the siblings are remaining silent at this time but the family of the late Rav Yaakov Yosef ZT”L, the ben bachor who was niftar months before Maran, has turned to an attorney to consult on the matter.
