MK (Labor) Omer Bar-Lev has been tagged as the source of some classified leaks. As a result he was suspended for two weeks from the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee.

Bar-Lev denies directly giving over any classified information to the press. He explains he may have failed to properly address classified information, communications with Deputy Foreign Minister Ze’ev Elkin. The leaks surrounded information pertaining to IDF budgeting.

Bar-Lev told Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) that it was an error, not an intentional lead. Nevertheless he was suspended from the committee until the end of the Knesset summer session as the matter is being investigated.
