51 Holocaust survivors arrived at the Kosel to celebrate the bar mitzvah they never had to date. The ceremony gives meaning to the phrase “It’s never too late” as the elderly survivors took part in the emotional event. The survivors are residents of Sderot. The event was sponsored by the Sderot Forum for the Elderly, the Ministry of Welfare and the Kosel Heritage Foundation.
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi explained he feels this is the minimum we owe these people, and he vows to do what he can to provide them with quality of life. “This is the generation that built the land, our parents, and I feel we must do what we can for them” he added.
