PHOTOS: Preparations in Meron Continue – Lag B’Omer Information

With Shabbos Lag B’Omer closing in, preparations in Meron and the surrounding areas are in full swing. Guests have begun arriving and according to Israel Police, over 100,000 people will be in the greater Meron area on Shabbos.

Police and EMS organizations are setting up and they are already ‘on call’ to respond to any and every emergency. Food preparations for Shabbos are in full swing and the area of the tziyun is full of mispallalim.

Rashbi Information Number:

The Lag B’Omer Rashbi information number is 1-700-500-679. The information number will be active from Friday, 16 Iyar at 7 AM until candle lighting. It will begin again after Shabbos and operate continuously until Sunday, 18 Iyar at 10 PM. Operators will provide traffic and transportation information for getting to and from Meron.

Parking for Disabled Motorists:

Advanced arrangements must be made with Ezer Mizion by calling 03-614-4444 before Shabbos. After Shabbos one may call 057-310-6203 or 057-310-6202.

Locating Missing Children:

The Zaka operator dealing with missing children can be reached by calling 1220.

Buying a Bus Ticket:

Advance ticket sales began on Wednesday, 14 Iyar. Sales taking place in 12 difficult locations in Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak, Ashdod and Haifa. One must reserve one’s ticket in advance. Tickets will not be sold boarding a bus. Tickets may be purchased by calling *8787 or visiting one of the centers below:

Yerushalayim:

· JHK stores (10 Malchei Yisrael Street and Bar Ilan Jct.)

· Egged office in the Rav Shefa Mall

· Egged depots in Ramot, Har Nof and Central Bus Station

Round trip ticket from Yerushalayim is 71.40 NIS regular, senior citizens 42 NIS, children 5-10 years old 67.20 NIS.

Bnei Brak:

· Egged, 89 Chazon Ish Street

Round trip ticket from Bnei Brak is 63.80 regular, senior citizens 37.69, children 5-10 years old 69 NIS (That is what is advertised. Seems to be an error)

Ashdod:

· JHK, 8 Yehuda HaNasi Street (Rova 7)

· Angel’s Bakery,4 Rashbi Street

· Super Mehadrin, 27 Chativat HaNegev (Rova 3)

Haifa:

· Vishnitz Supermarket in Ramat Vishnitz

  1. Will there be parking ;lots for private cars? I have seen two reports – one says yes, two with free shuttle buses; the other says there will be no parking lots in the vicinity of Meiron and no shuttle buses.
