The NYPD is conducting a two-day citywide crackdown this week on drivers using cell phones and failing to yield to pedestrians.
The traffic enforcement initiative is on Tuesday and Friday across all five boroughs.
Extra patrols will be looking for drivers who may be texting or going through intersections without yielding to pedestrians.
The initiative is part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Vision Zero program aimed at eliminating traffic fatalities.
The NYPD says it is illegal to use hand-held cell phones while driving.
