For residents of the Geula and surrounding areas of Yerushalayim, the sound of a helicopter overhead was heard during Shabbos, a sound that is usually not heard on the holy day in the capital. The police helicopter was operating in the Geula area, assisting efforts to locate a chareidi yeshiva talmid from Yeshivas Rinat Hatorah. The talmid was missing since early on Friday morning.
The ‘shiur beis’ talmid disappeared in the morning and police were notified. Police came to the yeshiva to interview students and staff. The search began on erev Shabbos and continued into Shabbos as the talmid was still missing.
Kikar Shabbos reports the drama intensified when a police force was sent to the home of the principal to assist with the search for the student hoping he might have information that would cast some light on search efforts.
