The Ministerial Law Committee will on Sunday, 11 Iyar debate the bill sponsored by MK (Bayit Yehudi) Ayelet Shaked. The bill seeks to prohibit the release of terrorists from prison in the future.
The bill would empower the Israeli courts to sentence a terrorist to life in prison without the possibility of parole or presidential pardon. Party colleagues Orit Struk, Shuli Muallem and Moti Yogev stand behind the bill along with MKs David Tzur (The Movement), Yariv Levin (Likud(, Robert Ilatov (Yisrael Beitenu) and Yisrael Hasson (Kadima).
If passed into law as the bill stands today, the courts will also have the authority to hand down the same sentences on the murderers of children. Justice Minister Tzipi Livni has already announced she plans to oppose the bill.

Sounds correct. what took so long?
I’m sure that no law drafted will protect a Govt that wants to release terrorists in the future. Any law can be overriden, repealed, exceptions made, etc Its a Brocho L’vatulla.
Hope it passes and will bring some comfort to families of terror victims.
