Attorneys for a New York man say they intend to sue a suburban New York police department after uncovering a video depicting an apparent beating by officers.

The video was obtained by attorneys for 20-year-old Kyle Howell of Westbury. He was arrested April 25 by Nassau County police officers on charges including marijuana possession, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.

A video depicts two officers stopping Howell’s vehicle and speaking with him briefly.

Howell is apparently the only person in the car, but the view of him is obscured by a reflection off the windshield. Officers are then seen punching and kicking someone inside the vehicle.

The 20-year-old says he suffered serious eye injuries.

Nassau County police are not commenting, citing pending litigation.
