Statement by Senator Simcha Felder Regarding Arrests in the Menachem Stark Case

stark“I hope that the alleged murderers are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and are condemned to a life behind bars. I am confident that the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office will mount a formidable case and bring justice to the Stark family. As always, my thoughts and prayers remain with the Stark family during this excruciatingly painful time.” – Senator Simcha Felder

  1. I don’t mean to nipick on the Senators words but I can’t stand typical political mumbo jumbo “my thoughts and prayers are with the stark family”
Mr. Senator, I’m sure you pray 3 times a day. Are your thoughts and prayers during those times REALLY with the Stark family or were you just reading a statement written by a political speech writer? Just asking!!

  2. “As always, my thoughts and prayers remain with the Stark family during this excruciatingly painful time.” – Senator Simcha Felder

Sorry to interrupt your “thoughts”. I agree with comments 1 & 2. Reb Simcha, with all due respect, your “comment” sounds like a PC Goy. You’re heimish and the family is heimish. Talk lemaaseh.

  3. I don’t think Mr. Felder really means what he said in the first sentence reported above. He said he hopes the “alleged” murderers are “condemned to a life behind bars.” He prabably means that he hopes the police caught the REAL murderers and that they are condemned to a life behind bars. He and so many others fail to realize that arresting suspects is not the same as catching the murderers, and that it is the job of the police and prosecutors to make sure they are prosecuting the REAL killers.

I think Mr. Felder is merely joining (or, perhaps) leading a chorus of well-meaning people who are distressed by Mr. Stark’s murder and are so eager for justice that they sometimes forget that punishing innocent parties helps only the REAL killers. There have been some prosecutions – and convictions – of innocent people who, upon arrest, were vilified and condemned by politicians and the public who were more interested in a conviction than in a conviction of the REAL killer.

I hope the police have caught the REAL killers of Mr. Stark, but if they have not, I hope the suspects are acquitted of his murder.

  4. A suspect in custody. Everyone is celebrating. The UJO, and other Jewish officials releasing statements,
there were even talks of a UJO Press Conference.

    The only question is:

    Why isn’t he being charged?

Why no statement of Mayor deBlasio, Why no official statement of NYPD Commissioner Bratton, Why Nothing from DA Thompson?

  5. Re Comment No. 6: To answer the questions in your last paragraph, maybe the evidence against the suspects in custody is not strong enough.

Everybody, please calm down and wait for evidence. Speechifying only mucks up an investigation and subsequent prosecution.

  6. Good point B-Pork, he’s prob doing the people’s business up in albany. I’m sure as soon as the arrests are made public, a press conference in front of amnon’s will be forthcoming.
