Amidst increasing tensions between Israel and the Palestinian Authority over stalled peace negotiations, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met on Sunday with Rabbi Marc Schneier, President of the New York based Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU.) In the meeting, Rabbi Schneier urged the PA President to be more vocal in his support for expanding global relations between the Muslim and Jewish communities. In particular, President Abbas agreed to join with the FFEU in speaking out for the European Jewish community in combating bans on ritual circumcision and slaughter. In response to Rabbi Schneier’s request coming on the eve of Yom Hashoah, President Abbas announced that this year he will publicly speak out on behalf of Holocaust remembrance efforts around the world. He described the Holocaust in the meeting as “The single greatest tragedy in modern-day history”, and said that remembrance should be an issue of increased concern to both Jews and Muslims.

Did the editorial staff drop the ball on Garlick’s comment or are those types of words, punny as they might be, the new norm?
Was rebetzin schneier #5 at the meeting?
Thank you editorial staff for fixing Garlick’s comment.
B”H one smart person, working on decreasing anti-semitism. It’s no mitzvah to incite the arabs no matter what other mitzvah (yishuv…) is done through that
