A member of Tzfas’ Vaad Shabbos was arrested in connection with stepped up activities against the operation of a pool on Shabbos.

Chareidim in the northern city have been meeting of late to discuss the opening of the pool, seeking to coordinate the effort to shut it down. People have complained that the pool, which is located near the Maor HaChaim neighborhood, disrupts the Shabbos atmosphere. The chareidi tzibur has launched a boycott against the Country Pool until the latter stops opening for business on Shabbos. Pashkavilim have been posted around the city warning the community not to support the pool until it begins shutting on Shabbos.

The arrest of the vaad member was received with shock and bewilderment by the frum community.
