The day began with violence as Israel Police were confronted by masked Arabs as they opened Har Habayis on the first day of chol hamoed Pesach. Rocks were thrown as police, who were compelled to use riot-control adjuncts to restore order.

Police remain on high alert and at present, they plan to permit Jews to visit Har Habayis despite the morning violence.
