AGAIN: Two NYPD Officers Injured After Rushing Into Brooklyn Fire


fdnyTwo police officers who rushed into a burning building in Brooklyn Thursday are being treated for smoke inhalation, police said.

The fire broke out in a four-story building on Scholes Street in Williamsburg at around 1 p.m., according to the Fire Department.

The officers went into the building to alert people to the situation. They were taken to Woodhull Hospital, along with one other person.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire.

On Sunday, Officers Dennis Guerra and Rosa Rodriguez rushed into a burning building in Coney Island. Guerra died and Rodriguez were overcome by smoke and carbon monoxide in the fire. Guerra later died.

Guerra died three days later. Rodriguez remains hospitalized in critical condition.
