Duvdevan Soldier Likely to be Ousted from the Elite Unit


idfA soldier in the elite Duvdevan unit will most likely be ousted after his weapon was stolen. The soldier was heading home for the weekend last week and decided to take a dip in a Jordan Valley area spring. As he was doing so he gun was taken. The military is viewing this most seriously and he will most likely face charges as well as being ousted from the elite unit.

According to the Channel 2 report, the soldier placed his military issued pistol in his bag, placing the latter at the side when he went for a dip. After getting out he realized his pistol was taken from the bag along with other personal items. He immediately reported the incident as required, but officials have been unsuccessful in recovering the gun.

The IDF Spokesman reports the matter has been turned over to the military prosecutor.

Duvdevan is one of the elite units in which soldiers are issued a pistol in addition to an automatic weapon.
