Blaming management of violating labor agreements, longshoremen at the Port of Ashdod are striking today, Sunday, 6 Nissan 5774. The dispute surrounds allegations from labor officials that the committee which hires new employees met without notifying union representatives, a violation of the labor contract.
This led to the wildcat strike that shut the port on Sunday morning, just days ahead of Pesach.
