FDNY is on the scene of a fire at 2007 Surf Avenue, near West 20th Street, with a fire in a 13th-floor apartment. Two NYPD officers have been seriously injured, with one of them in cardiac arrest, and CPR being performed. It appears they suffered severe smoke inhalation, although this has not yet been confirmed by authorities. According to a report by Breaking911.com, the officers are being rushed to Lutheran Trauma Center, with a police escort.
There are 10 civilians injured as well. They are reported to be in stable condition.
The fire has been placed under control. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
