There will soon be a new group in charge of Brooklyn’s Long Island College Hospital.
The non-profit Brooklyn Health Partners has won the bid to take over the cashed strapped facility in Cobble Hill.
There has been a long court battle between SUNY Downstate and various community groups over the fate of LICH.
According to the bid posted on SUNY’s website, BHP will build a 300 to 400 bed full service hospital.
Construction would begin at least two years after the current LICH is closed.
