Tornado Touches Down In St Louis; Damage Reported In Jewish Community

s

A tornado touched down briefly in the University City, damaging some homes and bringing down trees and power lines. No injuries were immediately reported. The storms knocked out power for thousands of customers in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.

Jim Sieveking, of the National Weather Service in St. Louis, says the tornado touched down at 5:23AM Thursday as a strong storm system with intense lightning and heavy rain moved through the St. Louis region.

Sources tell YWN that the U. City Shul has sustained damage, as well as at the Torah Prep School, whose roof was reportedly blown off.
