dpepAn annual report released Monday shows that Americans cut back on soda at an accelerated pace last year. The drop in sales volume represents the ninth consecutive year of declines, according to the report from Beverage Digest.

Here are the top 10 soda brands and how their sales volume performed:

—Coke — -0.5 percent

—Diet Coke — -6.8 percent

—Pepsi — -3.6 percent

—Mt. Dew — -2.2 percent

—Dr Pepper — -0.2 percent

—Sprite — +0.1 percent

—Diet Pepsi — -6.9 percent

—Diet Mountain Dew — -3.1 percent

—Fanta —-4 percent

—Coke Zero — -0.1 percent

  1. SodaStream?? You’ve got to be kidding me?!?

    Annnual US soda sales for 2013 represent more than 1.7 TRILLION fluid ounces, which would equate to over 25 BILLION of those 2 liter bottles. SodaStream’s total US sales? $40 million.

    No. Soda sales are down because consumers are shifting toward other “soft” drinks: energy drinks, sports drinks, bottled tea, bottled water. Don’t worry for the big soda companies though… they pretty much own them too.
