Rav Amar Shlita: Give ‘Binah’ To The Lawmakers

amarFormer Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita spoke about the recent passing of the new draft law. He said “I ask that regarding all that pains us, to daven to Hashem to give sinning hears ‘binah’”. He calls on the tzibur to be mispallel that lawmakers should do teshuvah.

During a shiur he was giving in the Shmuel HaNavi neighborhood of Yerushalayim, the rav stated “We must increase limud Torah and I ask that for all those who are pained to daven that Hashem gives the sinning hearts binah and to daven for their good and not for ours”.

The rav explains “we are not afraid for we have known worse”, but urges us to daven on their behalf, the lawmakers who voted for the draft bill enabling it to pass into law.

  1. “binah” for legislators – that is sort of contrary to their nature, not only in Israel but everywhere else

perhaps hope for “hesed” – politicians are usually good at that since they love to give things to people

perhaps hope for “ahavah” -politicians tend to want to embrace anyone and everyone who does them favors
