Many view Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman as a political extremist for among his outspoken views was a recent call to retake Gaza. Lieberman recently stated he would oppose any limited IDF counter-terrorism offensive in Gaza. He stated that Gaza must be re-taken and only after Israel has neutralized the Hamas terrorist government can negotiations begin regarding the future of the area.
Speaking to high school students in Gan Yavne on Wednesday, 17 Adar II, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz addressed the situation. Channel 10 News reports the commander spoke of many classified operations that have recently taken place in his reference to the Iranian threat. He spoke of a possible future conflict with Iran and of course addressed the situation involving ongoing rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel.
When asked by the students if the rocket fire can be halted, the commander reportedly said that the only way to make certain that rocket fire is halted entirely is by retaking Gaza.
Joining the growing number of ministers who realize the time to oust Hamas may have come is Minister of Strategic Affairs Dr. Yuval Steinitz, who recently stated “Sooner or later” this will have to be done, retaking Gaza to oust the Hamas regime. He admitted this is what should have been done back in 2012 during Operation Pillar of Defense.

Lieberman may be an extremist, but on this he may be correct.
Too bad no one listened to those who predicted BEFORE the pullout that this would need to be done.
Lieberman!!! im also in. come on lets see who else is in 😉
Your headline is not substantiated by your report. As reported by YWN, Gantz did not say the Israeli army should retake Gaza. He said that the only way to make certain that rocket fire is halted entirely is by retaking Gaza. He did not say whether halting rocket fire entirely was worth the cost in human life of retaking Gaza, not to mention the cost in $ and the price that will be paid in terms of withdrawal of support for Israel throughout the world.
agreed!
