HaGaon HaRav Mordechai Gross Shlita, Gavaad Chanichei Yeshivos is set to leave Eretz Yisrael on Monday evening, 8 Adar II 5774 at 19:00. The rav will be flying to be mispallel at the kever of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Shmelka Klein ZT”L, who is buried in the eastern Ukraine.
YWN-ISRAEL reported that a number of rabbonim were planning to be mispallel at the kever on 9 Adar II, the tzaddik’s yahrzeit in the hope of zechus avos preventing the passing of the chareidi draft law. Rav Klein ZT”L is a great-grandfather of Yesh Atid leader Finance Minister Yair Lapid, as reported. Rav Gross is expected to return after 12 hours.
Rav Gross is accompanied by his rebitzen and two gabbaim. He will be reciting special tefilos for the removal of the gezeiros facing bnei yeshivos.

Hey, whatever works.
This is getting out of hand…
Two points:
1) After the atzeres last week R’ Chaim Kanievski, shlita, said that for Lapid to have the merit of causing such as great Kiddush Hashem as the atzeres, he must either have had some tzaddik(im) as ancestor(s) or have some great mitzva that he once did. Seems somewhat prophetic.
2) Interesting that today’s selection from the monthly Tomer Devorah seder is on the section אשר נשבעתי לאבותיהם, “which I have sworn to their fathers”, and says that even if a wicked person is totally unworthy on his own merits, Hashem still has mercy on him since he is descended from illustrious ancestors and Hashem doesn’t want to disgrace the ancestors by disgracing their descendant. I hope the frum members of the Knesset will pay attention to this and make a show of treating Lapid with respect and telling him that they’re sure that the merit of his tzaddik ancestor will bring him to do teshuva. Should be interesting.
